My fiance and I have been together for almost 3 years, so we’ve spent extensive time just learning one another. We’ve seen one another in good times and bad times, through sickness and health and through reward and accomplishment. Whenever we go to Dallas to see his family or Memphis to visit my side, we’ve always stayed at each of our parent’s homes. I literally speak to my future MIL a few times a week and my fiance has a great relationship with my Dad. Tony has become the son he’s never had….so needless to say, we have the support of the entire village! Our parents are still married so we each have had some wonderful examples on how to make love LAST!
As a standard practice with Christian weddings, the pastor that’s officiating the wedding requires that we get Pre- Marital counseling. In order to get ahead, my fiance picked up a copy of Before You Say I Do. When he presented me with it, I noticed that it was spiritually centered and in workbook format. So far we have gone through 6 chapters (they’re all quite detailed so you’ll need plenty of time set aside). I must say that the book has helped us to verbalize and write down many of the lessons we’ve learned along the way. It’s also helped to evoke thought about some areas that we’ve not considered yet! If you’re a marriage minded couple or engaged, this manuscript is a must-have! PS It’s less than $9.00!
Check it out, share your thoughts, can you recommend any other pre-marital reading! COMMENT BELOW!
